Hanging out with family...

Arnold's sister Audrey and her family. They live in San Antonio, so we don't get to see them very often. Our trip was the first time that Reese got to meet them.

Clint, Audrey, Dan & Ezra on our evening walk along the San Antonio Waterway Trail.

By the end of our trip Reese was really tired of being in her stroller.

She got used to kickin it with her sippy cup of ice water.

Reese loved her cousin Dan. He was such a big help taking care of her and entertaining her. They had a good time. Surprisingly she loved it when he would carry her around. I thought she would cry...but not Reese...she just laughed and squealed.

We tried to get a cute picture of the three cousins, but it proved to be very difficult to get three kids to cooperate at the same time. I have a new found respect for children photographers.

Reese with Grandma & Grandpa Thiebaud

Grandma Thiebaud reading a story to Reese. Thanks Grandma!

First Zoo, first swim, first experience with humidity...yuck!

Our first day in San Antonio was a busy, long, hot, humid, but very fun day. We went to the San Antonio Zoo, then swimming, then to the River Walk. I don't think Reese knew what to think of the heat but she had a good time.

Her first Aligator!

A little surprising.

She didn't know at the time...but she would be spending a lot of time in her stroller over the next few days.

First Elephant!

Hanging out with cousins Dan & Ezra!

First big big fish.

First baby monkeys. I think she liked these the most.

Reese absolutely loved swimming. It was like having mommy and daddy in the bath tub with her. She splashed and laughed the whole time. She got mad when I got out to take a picture.

Pictures of the Alamo & Riverwalk to come. We forgot our camera in the car so all the downtown pictures are on Uncle Robert's camera. I'll have to post them as soon as I get them.

San Antonio here we come...

On May 1st we set out for our first official family vacation with little Reese. It would be her first time on an airplane, first time in a hotel, and her first time seeing her Aunt Audrey, Uncle Clint and cousins Dan and Ezra. Reese did amazingly on the airplane. She slept for about an hour and then played with mom and dad for the rest of the trip. She got a little restless at times, but we were able to easily distract her with a toy or snack. Way to go Reese!

(We tried to take a picture but this was the only one that wasn't blurry. Reese very happy on the airplane!)

The daily adventures of Reese - Part 2

Later that same day we decided to have a little family picnic outside. Arnold and I snapped these cute pictures of Reese. I just had to include so many because I loved the bright colors, and many cute and funny faces of Reese. She loves to be outside. Sometimes she'll crawl over to the back door, stand up and press her face to the glass squealing until I take her outside.

The daily adventures of Reese.

Reese discovered how to open the top drawer today. Yea for mommy! Luckily she's still too short to reach anything in it.

She stood like this for almost 30 minutes while watching Sesame Street. At times she would dace and shake her little bum to the music. It was too funny.

Of course I had to interrupt her for a photo opp.

A new generation of good friends...

Lately I've found myself asking the question, "Where does the time go", quite often. Maybe it has something to do with my upcoming 35th birthday, and the overwhelming realization that I am definitely not getting any younger.

Last night we had our good friends Jeremy and Britney over for dinner. Jeremy and I go way back...all the way to high school. It was pretty cool to be sitting at the table with our spouses, watching our kids play together. We've come a long way sense our high school days. We've even come a long way from our days of living in Salt Lake and surviving our Singles Ward together. Oh...the stories we could tell.

Who would have ever guessed we'd be where we are today. We both found wonderful people to marry and now we've both had adorable babies! May Reese and Jensen carry on a new generation of good friends.

(I had a hard time getting them both to look at the camera together. They were way more interested in playing with each other.)

First Words

Reese said her first words yesterday.  "Mama" & "Baba"...if you can call those words.  I should say they are her first "word sounding" noises.  Everything she brings me is either a "mama" or a "baba".  Now I just need to teach her that I am Mama, not the stuffed monkey. :)

A gate just became absolutely necessary!

Reese just climbed up 4 stairs!

When I noticed what she was doing I went over and stood behind her and watched to see how far she would or could go. She got to stair 4 and then tried to turn around and started laughing. I had to catch her from falling backwards.

My little 7 month old is fearless...

I have no one to blame but me...she definitely gets her daring fearlessness from the Nordfelt genes.

I rocked today!

Work out - done
Laundry - done
Irnonig - done
150 mini cupcakes baked & frosted for Gina's shower - done
25 personal lotion bottles for shower giveaway made - done

I was a domestic goddess and a PR Queen today!  These kind of days are pretty rare...so I had to document it.  Now I need a bed!!

She's thinking about it...

Time to invest in a gate...you think?

She figured it out!

Reese has figured out how to open her toy drawer, pull herself up to it and proceed to remove each toy one by one...happy day...

Look Grandma & Grandpa N...remind you of anything?

Just to fill everyone besides my family in...when I was little my grandparents had a drawer where they kept all the toys for their grandkids. I used to climb into it and sit and play. We have video/pictures of me that look very similar to these of Reese.

The magic of Seseame Street

There must be some magic spell this show casts on its tiny little viewers. Reese loves Sesame Street. I have tried Baby Einstein, cartoons, Pixar Movies...you name it, but at 7 months Sesame Street is the only thing that Reese has an interest in. As soon as it comes on she's like a zombie watching TV. It airs at 6 a.m. but I DVR it, then she watches it after lunch and will usually fall asleep for her afternoon nap while watching it.

Today she was sitting next to me on the couch watching Sesame Street while I worked on my laptop. She was watching the end of an episode she started yesterday. As soon as it ended she started huffing and whining until I started a new episode. As soon as the new episode started, she was like a zombie again.

After about 10 minute of the new episode she fell asleep. I didn't even notice she was asleep until she fell over into my lap. It was too funny. (She watches, sitting up completely erect. Even if I'm holding her, she won't relax and lay back. She has to sit straight up.)

I will forever be in awe of the mysterious magic of Sesame Street. I have to admit the magic was alive in my childhood as well.

What baby nightmares are made of...

Not the big scary loud vacuum, not the hot noisy blow-dryer, not the barking dog, or being left alone in the dark; these are not the things my little Reesy is afraid of.

It's this scary contraption...

That’s right, Reese is terrified of door stops. How did we discover this? Yesterday she was off exploring the house (a new favorite activity that comes with crawling). I was working on the computer and only 5 feet away, when I was startled out of my concentration by a blood curdling scream. I jumped up and ran over to Reese. I couldn't figure out what had happened. There was nothing she could have done to hurt herself. I inspected her from head to toe trying to figure out what had happened. No injuries of any kind. Finally I noticed she had been crawling around the door stop. I bent down and hit the door stop and it made its normal "bong" sound; the screams began again. I couldn't help but laugh. I tried to get Reese to touch the door stop and show her that it wasn't scary, but she was clinging to me so tight and sobbing into my shoulder. Poor thing...who knew a door stop could be so terrifying.

This morning I tried to get her to touch it again, so she can learn that there's nothing to be afraid of. She started to get apprehensive at the mere sight of the thing. I touched it and she started to hyperventilate. At least there were no screams. I assume eventually she will learn...door stops are our friends.

Note to self...

Never put your extremely mobile child in white pants...unless you really want to be reminded how badly your floors need to be cleaned! I learned my lesson...it's definitely time to clean the house.

But she does look so cute.

Our Soccer Star

It feels like yesterday when my two little neices Riley and Mycol were born. And no matter how old they get I still can't help but see these two beautiful little faces when I look at them.

That's why it's so hard to believe that Riley can do this on the Soccer field. She's the one doing a flip while throwing the ball back in bounds. It's called a California Throw-in. She's quite the soccer star.

Riley will be 13 on the 26th of April and I find myself asking..."Where does the time go??" She's definately not little anymore, but still as beautiful as ever. Happy Birthday Riley! I love you!
