Potty time...

Today I went into the bathroom, when I came out Reese had disappeared. I finally found her upstairs in her bathroom. She had undressed, taken her diaper off and gone pee pee in her potty all by herself. I started clapping and she was so proud of herself.

I still think I'm going to wait until the end of summer to potty train...but she is such an independant big girl!

South Fork

At the last minute this weekend we decided to head up the canyon for a little dutch oven dinner with some neighbors and friends. We had a great time and thoroughly wore out the kids!

Three little monkeys swinging in a tree!

The men...doing some of the cooking...we ladies did our share too.

There's nothing like a roasted hot dog!

Our fearless girl...and I mean fearless. She wanted to dive right in, and tried a couple times.

This is a look of pure joy...not shock, but it should have been. I can't even begin to describe how cold this water was. I think she has her mom's high tolerance for cold water.

Hi Mom....

Want some M&M's?

These two little "frienamies" just love playing together. However, one minute they're hugging, holding hands, and sharing...and the next they're fighting over a toy, beating on each other and poor little Rowan is getting her finger bit off by our little sharp tooth Reese. Sorry Rowan! Reese really does love you, despite her terrible toddler antics.

Wet, cold, and warn out...these kiddo's are ready to call it a night. But it was a fun night!

Just the boys...

These men love to give us a hard time about what a "hard" life we mom's lead...playing outside with the kids all day, deciding whether to go to the pool or the park or just stay home and swim in the front yard, eating Popsicles and shooting the breeze. Yes, it sounds like a good life, doesn't it?

So, these men got a little taste of mommyhood on Saturday. The difference...while we mommy's are playing outside with the kids we don't have another mommy inside cleaning, cooking, and doing laundry for us. And we certainly don't have another mommy who brings us out snacks and drinks, or checks on us every 30 minutes to see if we need anything.

But I'm glad these men got to enjoy some leisure time with their kiddo's. They do work very hard all week, so we mommy's can live the life we do.

Crazy life...

That's what summer has felt like. We have been so busy with one fun activity after another. I thought I'd write a few notes about all we've been up to.

Last week Arnold and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. Boy have the years flown by, but for all the right reasons I feel like we have been married forever. We had a great anniversary celebrated up at the Homestead Resort in Midway Utah. Our good friend Megan was kind enough to come stay with Reese so Arnold and I could have a little get away. I have to say, I was very impressed with the Homestead. It was so serene and peaceful. It made for a very romantic stay. My only complaint...they need to get new mattresses. Maybe I'm just spoiled with my Inteligel bed...have I ever mentioned how much I love my bed? Most hotels, with the exception of Marriot, don't ever hold up to my standards. I'm picky with my beds, what can I say.

Anyway, the Homestead was fun and relaxing. Our stay included a visit to the spa for a massage, some pool time, eating delicious food and lots of shopping. Ironically our little trip away from Reese was spent doing a lot of shopping for Reese. Oh well... we had a great time!

In other news, Reese has been having the best summer ever. We can't believe how fast Reese is changing and growing. She continues to say new words on a daily basis and has started putting sentences together. Today when I put her down for a nap I told her that when she woke up we could go outside and play in the water with all her friends. I always keep my promises to Reese, even when I know or don't expect her to remember, but today Reese shocked me by remembering exactly what I promised. When I walked in her room to get her up the first words out of her mouth were, "play outside water mommy?" So that's what we did. She is getting smarter by the day.

Reese had a great time with her Grandma & Grandpa Nordfelt this weekend. They were down for my Aunt Dana's mission farewell. Reese was quick to remember who has the magical power of pulling candy from her ear (Grandpa) and was more than willing to dish out as many hugs and kisses necessary to get as much candy as possible.

Speaking of hugs and kisses, Reese has become the best hugger ever. She gives the biggest tightest squeezes and throws in a good lick/kiss when she feels like it. That is the key...she doesn't just give hugs to anyone. She has to really like you and be in the mood. She's like her mommy that way. Honestly, she's like her mommy quite a bit. In fact just tonight as Reese was licking the salt from the bottom of her popcorn bowl, Arnold and I decided that Reese is definitely a Nordfelt through and through.

Well that's a little update on us. We're busy, happy and really enjoying our summer!

After the hunt!

What do a bunch of kids do when they're exhausted after running all around the neighborhood for a scavanger hunt?

Eat popsicles and rest in the shade...what else!

Thanks for the fun play group today Whitney!

I posted this picture, not because Reese looks cute...check out little Gavin in the background. Love love that smile!

And there it is again!

Cute little Brea Wild...love those eyes!

This is what I got when I tried to get Reese to smile for the camera! Apparently she wasn't in the mood.

Happy Fathers Day!

We had a pretty crazy father's day with my family all in town, but we still managed to make daddy his favorite cake...German Chocolate. Reese did all the stirring.

Thanks Arnold for being the best daddy in the whole world! We love you!

I know I've said it before...

but I'll say it again...we have the best neighborhood!

The first water balloon fight of the summer...good times...

You really have to admire the determination to get to those last few balloons!

Tyler Gardner...you better run...

cute little Lucy Nuttall...who would dare throw a balloon at you?

I think Reese's face is not sadness...just pure vengeance...

I think Brayden Wood got drenched.

Sweet little Miles Jasso...I just want to pinch those cheeks.

After the water fight, there was plenty more water fun to have.
We love all our neighbor friends!

Chuck E. Cheese...

Reese got her first taste of Chuck E. Cheese! ....and to no surprise...she loved it! She squealed in delight at the sight of the big mouse him self! We had a fun family night hanging out and playing games!

Scooter Girl!

Reese got her very own scooter today! She was so excited she couldn't wait to try it out.

I love that she thought she could ride it with her star swim floaty, and one shoe!

Garage Sale Day!

Last Saturday we had the annual Tanglewood garage sale! It was a huge success and we sold just about everything...All we had left was a few books, a couple items of clothing...and these shoes...

They probably didn't sell because the little girls couldn't stop wearing them. Our cute little neighbor Claire was particularly good at manoeuvring these 4 inch stiletto's, even while hoola-hooping. That's one talented 3 year old.

But Reese was a big fan as well.

Look familiar Mom??

I decided they were worth keeping. I mean every little girl needs some good dress up shoes...right?

3 day weekend fun...

We love a good 3 day weekend, so we didn't let this Memorial Day weekend go to waste. We started Saturday morning by heading up to Heber City for the Day out with Thomas on the Heber Creeper. Arnold was lucky enough to score some free tickets from work.

Reese has really never watched Thomas the Train, but she does occasionally watch Chuggington, so she knows what a train is and she thought Thomas was pretty cool.

The train ride wasn't the most exciting ride ever, but Reese had a good time watching all the cows and horses go by.

Reese has been really affectionate lately. She loves to give spontaneous hugs and kisses to her mommy and daddy. I caught these on camera.

This is the Heber Creeper Steam Engine.

They had some music playing over the loud speaker and Reese started busten out her moves. This girl loves to dance.

It's pictures like this one that make me realize my baby really is no longer a baby. She looks so grown up hanging over the bench.

Reese got a balloon butterfly that she was more interested in chewing on than playing with.

After our day out with Thomas we headed home for lunch and a nap. Later in the afternoon we decided to take a long bike ride as a family. Reese is loving her bike trailer this summer. Our ride was about an hour and a half, but about 30 minutes in Reese zonked out. So while mom and dad got a really good work out, Reese took an evening siesta. It was a great day!

On Monday we got up and took off on another bike ride with our friends the Gardner's. We road to a local park for a picnic and some play time. Half way through the ride, for some reason Reese decided she wanted out of the bike trailer and wasn't very happy until we got to the park.

This is Reese and Gavin Gardner relaxing after the ride.

How cool is Gavin in his shades! Such a cutie!

On the way back Gavin was nice enough to let Reese ride with him, and Dave was nice enough to pull both of them! I owe you Dave!

After our bike ride and picnic we headed home for naps. After naps we headed to the Lindon Pool for our first swim of the summer. It felt soooo good. Sorry no pictures, but trust me it was fun and refreshing. After the pool we barbequed and relaxed.

By the end of the day we were all exhausted! We had such a fun weekend.

This is Reese relaxing. Her new favorite teddy is one of my old teddy bears. It's about the same size as her, but she loves to snuggle with it.
