EASTER!

(I have to apologize in advance. For some reason I didn't take any pictures of Anniston on Easter. I don't know what I was thinking. She just slept most the day, but she did look really cute in her Easter dress.)

Reese was a little spoiled this Easter. She got to have three Easter egg hunts. The first one was on Saturday with our ward.

She didn't even care about the candy inside. She just had fun collecting the eggs.

The second hunt was on Easter morning. After she and Anniston got their baskets, the Easter Bunny hid 34 eggs around the house for Reese to find.

Anniston's little basket...mainly filled with candy for mom & dad. She did get an Easter dress and a dolly though.

Reese got her big Easter gift early this year, it was a tent and tunnel set from Ikea. The Easter Bunny delivered it early in hopes of helping to entertain her when little Anniston arrived. But the Easter Bunny still came back on Easter morning to bring some more fun treats.

The third hunt was at Aunt Jen's house, where her cousin's Riley and Mycol had hidden eggs, candy and toys! Reese made out like a bandit.

Riley, Reese & Mycol. I can't even begin to tell you how much Reese loves her cousins. They are her biggest little role models. I can get her to do anything if I tell her that Riley or Mycol would do it too.

After the hunt Riley and Mycol took Reese to the park, then home for a little mani/pedi. Reese was in heaven!

Our Girls...

Photobucket

We made it through our first Sunday back to church! Anniston did great...and so did mommy!

Photobucket

Reese likes to get in on the picture taking. She loves her little sister.

Reese:

Reese is really into "coins" lately (money). She always wants to go through my wallet to see if I have any coins she can have. Today I told her that mommy didn't have any coins left, they were all gone. I also told her that maybe the Easter Bunny would bring her some coins. (I was thinking about hiding some money in some of her eggs). She got very excited and said, "Maybe Easter Bunny bring Mommy more coins too!"...Yes Please!

Reese loves carrots. She especially loves to eat whole large carrots, not the mini baby ones. She asks for one as a snack multiple times a day. Combine her carrot obsession with her recent love of Looney Toons; every time Bugs Bunny is on, she has to have a carrot, just like him. She then walks around the house, carrot in hand, saying, "What's up Doc?"

We're not sure where she got it, but Reese's new funny saying is, "Ohh nuts!" When I told her that her favorite cookies were all gone, her response, "Ohh nuts!" It's pretty much her response to everything these days.

The other day Reese really wanted to go outside and play. I told her that it was too cold to go outside, but she didn't see this as a problem. She headed to the closet and dressed up in her winter hat, gloves, and boots. She then came to me and asked again to go outside. When I still denied her request she said to me, "But mommy, hat, gloves...sooo warm." When I explained to her that we just couldn't go out right now, she responded, "Ohh nuts...just have to pretend outside."

Anniston:

She just eats, sleeps, poops, and looks cute all the time. Tomorrow she will be 1 month old. I wish I could say that it's flown by, and I guess in some ways it has...but the lack of sleep sure seems to make my days drag. I'm not good with no sleep. But she's just so stinking cute that it's worth it. A few little facts about our 1 month old Anni-banani...

- She's starting to become a better sleeper. She will usually give me at least one 4-6 hour stretch of sleep each night. When I'm really lucky she gives me a 5/6 followed by a 4/5 stretch. Those are some good nights.
- She hates taking a bath or being naked. Probably because she has no baby fat. My little Anni is long and skinny. At one month she still fits a newborn size in both clothes and diapers.
-She's becoming very tolerant of her big sister, who constantly bugs...I mean "play's" with her. (I just had to pause from tying to tell Reese to leave her sister alone.)

Snuggling with mommy

I was worried that once Anniston was born I wouldn't be able to hold both my girls at the same time. I was wrong.

Summer is almost here...

...and Reese can't wait. We take advantage of any little patch of sunshine that comes our way.

Sister Love

There's a lot of sister love around here these days. Reese really loves her little sister and asks daily when she'll grow up and want to play.

Reesy Bunny!

In preparation for Easter...Reese is learning all about the Easter Bunny.

She likes to check herself out in her bunny ears.

And this pictures just makes me laugh.

Saying Goodbye to Grandma & Grandpa N.

We were sad to see Grandma and Grandpa leave, especially Reese. They were her best friends for several days. In fact, she keeps asking when they are coming home.

Reese really didn't want to pose for pictures, as you can see in her face. She has her moments...I'm sure she gets that from me.

Photobucket

I love how you can see her peeking from behind the couch.

Photobucket

So sad to see Grandma go!

And of course Reese had to get one last piece of candy pulled from her ear. (This is a family tradition. My grandpa N. used to pull gum from all his grandkids ears. Now all our kids know where to go if they want some candy.)

The first few days...

I can't begin to tell you how happy I was to come home from the hospital and sleep in my own bed. As much as I enjoyed my one on one time with Anniston, and having no house to pick up and no meals to prepare, there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed.

It was also nice to have my mom and dad her to help me adjust to life with two kids. My mom cooked all our meals, did the laundry, cleaned the house, and played/took care of Reese when I needed help. It was a nice transition.

It was also nice for Reese to have some extra attention. She is adjusting to life as a big sister pretty well. While she wasn't quite sure what to think of Anniston in the hospital, she has adored her little sister ever since we got home. She has become an excellent helper and is always there to smother her sister with kisses.
